The above quote from Maya Angelou, was the inspiration for this special heart designed to remind us that we are all works in progress. Kenya is known for their beautiful soapstone carvings which goes through several steps to produce. The first step in the process is using a machete to carve a rough shape from a block of soapstone. For these hearts the rough shape was kept to serve as a reminder that each of us is a work in progress, often rough around the edges as we learn and grow. Designed to be very tactile, the rough heart shape is polished smooth to make it feel great when held in your hands and the special properties of soapstone create positive energy and exert a calming influence. Each heart is approximately 2” x 2” x 1 ½” and varies in color, and shape making each one unique just like each of us. Your Work in Progress heart comes with a pouch and story card that includes the Maya Angelou’s quote.
